Letter to President and Sister Jones

Thought I would share my letter that mom is sending in a package to Pres and Sis Jones today.  Give them a big hug for me!

 

President and Sister Jones,

 

Allow me to express my love and appreciation to both of you. Hermana Rigby recently sent me the attached email about her mission experience.  I imagine you were the ones challenging her to place her thoughts and witness on paper.  Her words bring comfort and joy to my heart, and I can only express my gratitude for your loving and Christ-like care during these past 16 months. There is no doubt that your heavenly influence pulled her through the doubts, fear, and sadness that could have brought her home early.  Now, we can all witness the Master’s hand in her life and in her choices to remain a diligent missionary who is returning with honor.

 

Hermana Rigby is so incredibly grateful she not only “stayed” in the field but also dedicated herself to her calling as a disciple of Jesus Christ.  She now sheds joyful tears, and her heart is filled with pain to come home next week.  Thank you for your support, your leadership, your parent-like love, your examples, and your constant prayers on her behalf.  You have expended great energy on behalf of my beautiful daughter, and it is noticed, and I will forever be grateful.

 

Just as Hermana Rigby is close to you, I too, was very close to my mission president and his wonderful wife.  They have passed from this mortal journey, but I will always keep them on my top tier of Christ-like examples who made an eternal impact in my life.  Both of you now sit next to them in my top tier and words can only attempt to express my love for you.  Your commitment to our Savior and His gospel will bless my family’s life through eternity.  Miracles have occurred not only in Emma’s life and in the lives of her California friends, but also in the Rigby home.  Amy and I are grateful for the heavenly angels that walk beside us on our earthly journey, and you are two of those angels.

 

I recently came across the attached article by Elder Shayne M. Bowen, I Packed Your Parachute.  Thank you for loving Hermana Rigby enough to continually pack her physical parachute, her emotional parachute, her mental parachute, and her spiritual parachute.  As a father and a fellow servant of Jesus Christ, I thank the heavens my sweet daughter was called to serve under your care!

Well today was long but filled with lots of good things. I got my heart rate up to 180 this morning. It literally felt so good. We had goal setting as a zone this morning, cool to see the zone come together and make goals to help fulfill the fathers will. personal study today was good. Seven Months in the field

 Hey Hermana, Hi there, madsen, maleck, dad and myself are on our way to St. George to Raeghan’s farewell. Notes from Raeghan’s talk-  Song- child of light God knows and blessed each one of us Individually before we came to earth. Raeghan bore testimony of this   we can understand our mission on earth as we come to know Jesus Christ, personally. Personal prayer, church attendance- blessed her life- family and friends blessed her life too! “ what you do during the private times of your life will greater impact how you approach and combat struggle.- elder lBangherter Families are forever- gratitude for temples. I am looking forward to hearing about your new area, your new apartment, and about your WANT LIST for the next package I am going to send you!  The cherry chip cookies you will absolutely love!!!   Remember the object of this week – REMEMBER LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE PAST!  A quick story for you – Mary and her mommy were going for a walk .  Some people they passed were frowning ( pause your reading this story and put on the biggest frown that you have) .  Mary asked Mommy, “Why are the people so sad?” Mommy said, “I don’t know, but maybe we can smile at them and help them be happy.” As they walked along, Mary saw a woman coming toward them.
