A note from Daddy Travis

Good Morning Hermana!
I am looking forward to hearing about your new area, your new apartment, and about your WANT LIST for the next package I am going to send you! The cherry chip cookies you will absolutely love!!!
Remember the object of this week – REMEMBER LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE PAST! A quick story for you –
Mary and her mommy were going for a walk. Some people they passed were frowning (pause your reading this story and put on the biggest frown that you have). Mary asked Mommy, “Why are the people so sad?” Mommy said, “I don’t know, but maybe we can smile at them and help them be happy.” As they walked along, Mary saw a woman coming toward them. Mary smiled her biggest smile (pause again and put on your biggest smile!).. When the woman saw Mary’s happy face, she smiled back. Mary said, “It worked!” Mommy said, “When we choose to be happy, it helps others be happy too.”
These past weeks, I have needed your smile! When we have visited, it has been the highlight of my week. Your rays of happiness, laughter, what you have eating during the past week, your interactions with others, your love for children, your progress, and your love with newfound relationships brings me so much GREAT JOY! What have you learned from past challenges, new adventures, uncomfortable change? You have endured them all! Yes, tears have accompanied but look to see what relationships you would NOT have if you had not pressed forward! Now, you are entering another race and just imagine a few months from now. You will find tears flowing again from your future departure from new friends. YOU GOT THIS SISTA!!!
It was fun to visit Madsen’s store yesterday. A new girl driver had been hired and she was wearing a CV Track t-shirt. Her last name is Fossen I believe. I asked her what she ran. “Long distance,” she replied! I then asked her, “Do you know Emma Rigby?” “Well yes!” she responded. I was proud to announce that Madsen is Emma’s big brother, and I am Emma’s dad! Hate to blast this in your face, but YOU MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF TEAMMATES – ESPECIALLY YOUNGER TEEMATES! Guess what? The door is opening for you to do the same thing in the mission field. Just as you said it on Monday, you are crossing the threshold of being one of the older missionaries!
Enjoy this day and coming week filled with CHANGE! DO NOT HIDE YOUR SMILE, as it makes others happy and will help build new relationships! I pray for you and have the greatest confidence that you will RUN YOUR RACE in the coming weeks and months! The nerves at the starting line are a good thing! They keep you humble, and they keep your eyes pointed heavenward! We are nothing without God and we can do anything with God! Love you to the moon and back . . . and on and on!
