The Finish Line

Ya se acabó  I am in aw right now that I'm actually writing this email. It flew by so fast, and my joy is full! This last week was crazy! Felt all the feels. I couldn't be more grateful that I had these 18 months to serve my savior Jesus Christ in the Arcadia California Mission. I am going to miss these people so much.    My companion is off to Peru tomorrow, so we have had so much fun this last week working hard out here in East LA. God has been so good to us. I will head to the temple tomorrow and spend the day with my mission president and the other missionaries, and Wednesday I will fly home!  Highlights from the week!  Said goodbye to so many members. The hardest was Hna Becerril. I have known her since my first transfer. Let's just say I'm glad my house is 6 hours away  We put Albert on date!!!! August 10th here he comes!!! We also invited his niece Valarie but her mom said no :(  hopefully he heart will soften  Met this cool guy name...

Monday July 14, 2025 Hermana, I am so overwhelmed with love and pride for you!  It is simply amazing that 18 months have passed, even though some months seemed like eternity!  Once you settle back into family and Cedar City life, I hope you don’t forget about me!   I wanted to share something for you to consider as you sprint to the finish.  I hope you can share it with someone this week.  Love you to the MOON AND BACK!   “I PACKED YOUR PARACHUTE” by Shayne M Bowen   Dear Brother and Sisters as we move into a new era in the Church, as we move to a “higher and holier” way to minister to each other as taught by President Russell M. Nelson, I hope and pray that we can think more of others than of ourselves. We need to take care of each other. The following story and scripture are very meaningful to me and exemplify what the Savior expects from each of us.  Captain Charles Plumb was a US Navy jet pilot in Vietnam. After 75 combat missions, his p...

Letter to President and Sister Jones

July 15, 2025 Thought I would share my letter that mom is sending in a package to Pres and Sis Jones today.  Give them a big hug for me!   President and Sister Jones,   Allow me to express my love and appreciation to both of you. Hermana Rigby recently sent me the attached email about her mission experience.  I imagine you were the ones challenging her to place her thoughts and witness on paper.  Her words bring comfort and joy to my heart, and I can only express my gratitude for your loving and Christ-like care during these past 16 months. There is no doubt that your heavenly influence pulled her through the doubts, fear, and sadness that could have brought her home early.  Now, we can all witness the Master’s hand in her life and in her choices to remain a diligent missionary who is returning with honor.   Hermana Rigby is so incredibly grateful she not only “stayed” in the field but also dedicated herself to her calling as a disciple of Jesus ...

Misc notes from dad

December 13, 2024 Once again, it has been a busy week.  Insurance and business license renewals along with marketing updates are devouring my days!  Worked on the car wash floor heat yesterday and rose early to make sure everything was not frozen up.  Now the air compressor has a big leak and yet another item to consume my time.  But that said, I thought of you and I began to snicker!  See, you bring me smiles and happiness!  I drove over to the office and set everything aside to send you a note!   Scripture of the day – Matthew 11:28-30 28  ¶  Come  unto me, all  ye  that  labour  and are heavy laden, and I will give you  rest . 29  Take my  yoke  upon you, and  learn  of me; for I am  meek  and  lowly  in  heart : and ye shall find  rest  unto your souls. 30  For my yoke  is   easy , and my burden is light.   I thought this is a per...
