September 20, 2024 letter and journal entries and Howdy Ho!

 September 30, 2024

Hey Fam,

 hung out with our 96-year-old Argentinean Hermana! She was the first member in her city 96 years ago after she was baptized! Sat by her in church also. She is the cutest thing ever

-chased down a random guy on the street. Turns out he is homeless but loves coming and hanging out at our church 

- had our big ward activity celebrating all the latinos countries! The food was absolutely delicious and all the performances were amazing! 

-went on exchanges to english work and we had a member meal. I have never been so happy to eat in a white person's home heheh

-I am getting transfered to what I have heard been called as the butthole of the mission. Basically it is one of the richest cities in California and there isn't a lot of Hispanics. But we are gonna grind! I am also finishing a training of another Hermana which I am excited about! And Hna Gastulem is coming with me!! So still gonna be in a trio...but we are going to be living with a member in her super boujee house. I am pumped. 

ALSO MY NEPHEW WAS BORN!! 

As we think about the spirit it is the greatest way we can feel God's love for us. The role of the spirit is to pull out the weeds and plant flowers instead. The spirit is purifying. Spend more time with him.

Well today was another day. I wish there was a better way to start these off. unfortunately I dont think there are hahah. Pday was good. It was so good to see the Hamiltons and to eat a stake hahah. I ran some good routes for football today at zone sports hahah. Talking to my mom and dad was very healing haha. I am having a hard time remembering the lessons I have learned. I told hna smith a little bit what was going on and she was just so kind and loving. I really hope I can get a companion like her again one day. I love her. Tonight, we heart attacked members doors. So that was fun hahah! I thoughly enjoyed it. Hna Badillo caught us. And she just kept saying over and over again that we are her little girls and that she loves us so so much! She was so happy. It was precious

Today was fun and different. Lately I have been thinking a lot about what brings us real joy. Eternal joy. Especially because one of the sister who has only been out for 2 transfers is going home to be a service missionary. She has been talking about it a lot. And it has kinda frustrated me because she seems so happy to go back home and do the worldly things it has made me think a lot about what things really truly bring us joy. It is a lesson that I am enjoying learning right now hahah. I had a good pstudy today and have been loving the book of Mormon. Read 2 chapters in spanish and understood a good amount. We took a nap in comp study today so that was awesome. We also mad like 3 new friends today!! And we visited this 96-year-old woman in our ward and she is just the cutest. She is from Argentina, and she was the first member in her whole city. We are gonna go back this next week to visit her and talk to all the cute old people and play the piano for them! Dinner was kinda gross tonight but that's is ok hahah! Then I ended of the day with some good language study! So overall not too bad hahah

Well today was super good. We had exchanges and it was so so fun! I laughed a lot. And I was just able to get a lot off my chest. The member meal tonight was especially good. I went into the English ward and we ate at the bishop's house. And his wife made us meat and potatoes. It was delicious amd so healthy and it didn't make me feel like I was going to explode. They also gave us good dating advice hahaha. And the most important part was that we should be able to talk to the person and that you should always keep the pipes clean. it also just felt like I was hanging out with two best friends, and I could talk and ranting about seriously whatever I needed too. As transfers come up I really don't want to leave hna gastelum and I do not want to stay with hna crawford. sooo that is what is on my mind tonight. But God's will I guess 

9/26/2024

Today was not bad. Had a good workout. I wore pants today too. They weren't mine. They were comfy. Please buy me some. They are from Athleta. My exchange was good. Probably one of the best that I have had. I laughed a lot. It was very refreshing. We went to Costco for lunch and I got a chicken bake. And boy do I miss Costco. We were going crazy with lessons and mpls. Like lesson after Lesson. I chased a guy down off of the street. And he is coming to church this Sunday!! We put our friend Dara on date. And extended a bap date to our friend Jose. He did not accept. We went to our friend consuelos house. And she was literally waiting for us to come. So that was super cool. Because then we literally showed Up. And then our mysterious friend called and said he wants to get baptized and go through the temple. But we still haven't met him in person. So Idk. Also I played volleyball tonight and I wasn't that bad. Haha. 

9/27/2024

Well today was hard. I just feel like crying. I cried a lot this morning. I just got really homesick and sad. And I just wanted to hug my parents today. So we went and got donuts and it tasted like Lins donuts. And then we came home, and we all took a nap. Then we went and did weekly and made brownies. And then we had roleplays, and all the elders were beefing and we don't know why. Then last minute the elders asked us to pick up dinner and we did. But then they were 40 minutes late and walked in and didn't even apologize to us for being late and immediately just started roasting us. And they didn't even invite us to all the service they had today. So it was just weird. But then we helped set up the party for our ward tomorrow And it just turned out so cute

Today was fun. Practiced a Tongan dance and the. Went to the ward party and danced there. I also finished the book of Mormon. So now we go full Spanish mode. Yikes. But I'm tired to yeah. I put away my summer and spring clothes in my suitcases though to rotate through a little hahah

9/29/24 

Baby Steele came yet? Literally my thoughts all day. I woke up and layed on the couch and watched gospel stream for like an hour. It was super relaxing. Pulled up to church and sat by the 96-year-old Argentina lady. Cleaned all lunch hour and the house is sparkling clean. Had a super good lesson with some friends today. I was pretty worried about transfers and that I was going to stay with Hna Crawford lowkey. BUT I GOT TRANSFERRED!!! AND I AM FOLLOW UP TRAINING!!! and we are going to Tujunga. One of the slowest Work parts of the mission. But we live in a super nice pad AND Hna Gastelum coming with me!!! So, I am in another trio, but it is going to be so fun!!
