Hola Familia

๐ŸŒธWe went to Pasadena this week to help people who lost their homes in the fire! It was so so sad. So many people in distress but it was really amazing to be a part of the service!

๐ŸŒธWe ate panda at MLC

๐ŸŒธGot to play games with old people at a retirement home

๐ŸŒธTook the bus and rode our bikes on Saturday, literally the best way to do missionary work. I wish president would take away our car

๐ŸŒธwe got a referral of a lady who is 75 years old, and she actually come to church. MIRACLE

๐ŸŒธAndres and Andres Jr came to church, we have to move their bap date because Andres Jr lives with his mom during the week and also doesn't know how to read. So, he is a little behind but totally wants to be baptized! So, send prayers!

๐ŸŒธsomething crazy is that a bunch of people are getting deported here in California and lots of people aren't going to work, school, church, and or the store. And no one will open the doors for the elders because they think they are coming to take then away, so it is pretty sad. All of the testimonies in church yesterday were all about have faith in trust in God!

๐ŸŒธIM TRAINING!! Transfer news last night had us going crazy! I have to say bye to Hna Zavala which is pretty sucky, but I am excited for the next step here in the mish.

Keeping our priorities in order can be challenging, especially in today's busy world. The two great commandments provide valuable guidance. By first loving God and then loving our neighbor, we maintain the proper focus.

"Decisions of character are made by remembering the right order of the first and second great commandments."

3 Nephi 13:24
No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon

We must remember to fear God and not man, for that is the "true badge of courage."

Joseph Smith feared man more than God when he gave the 116 pages to Martin Harris. He was looking to approved by society instead of God. Elder Maxwell taught,

"Develop self-contentment instead of seeking self-improvement” and repentance. Lowering the Lord’s standards to the level of a society’s inappropriate behavior is—apostasy."

So, this week I invite you to look to how you can fear God more than society. Because truly to become more like Christ we must be God fearing to always do the will of the lord, for that is the only thing that Jesus Christ ever did.

“I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me” (John 5:30).

I can promise if we all try to be more God fearing we will receive blessing that we didn't even know existed.

Con amor
Hermana Rigby
