Monday- crazy busy, maleck got his license, girls’ blackout game, maleck’s surprise birthday- he was sooo surprised!
Tuesday- basketball at CHS- five hours long. Maleck is playing so well. The fire alarm went off during the game. Game was delayed by 20 minutes in the third quarter. We tromped cedar by 30.
Wednesday- football banquet and Gatsby party. Maleck got an awesome award.
Thursday- ward party- dad was heavily involved. I had cool mission experiences as I went to our neighbors and invited them- it was the BEST experience. Our neighbors who lived on the other side of the Wrights even came. Her name is Mary and she is awesome.
Friday- maleck started playing basketball at 2- last game was at 8. Emma, he looks so good! Dad and I stayed in the hotel by Papa John’s- it’s the one we are investors in.

Saturday- maleckplayed at 9 AM. Dallas got married at 10 AM- it was awesome!  Luncheon was fun. Maleck played ball again at 1:30. Got home at 3- left for Panguitch at 5. Reception was awesome. Your concern was incredible and brought such a great feeling to my heart. Thank you!

I am in bed now- soooo tired. I have a lot of grading to do and school prep. I am planning g to get up before church and do it!

Not much else to report. Next week is a busy one too. I wish I could just stay home. Listen to Christmas music and bake cookies.  I sent another package. You should get it Tuesday. Be sure to follow the instructions.

I can’t wait to talk to you Monday. I hope you had a great week.

I love you!

Hi Emma,

I hope you have had a great week! I am anxious to hear about transfer news.

Life her has been very busy
Tuesday- Papa John’s Christmas party
Wednesday- 3 basketball games
Thursday- pizza and paragraph night- Gatsby essay
Friday- we drove to North Sanpete for b-ball
Saturday- I shopped until I dropped. Solo Christmas shopping is a little lonely, but I got it done. 9Am- 10pm in St. George

Tomorrow I teach gospel doctrine - Moroni 10. I had the coolest experience with maleck as he read Moroni 10 to us- he cried as he read it. Deeply spiritual.

I am tired. Dad is fighting a cold, madsen is in bed (he has done the dishes all week, and he mopped the kitchen floor). Maleck better be walking in the door SOON!

Please pray that my lesson goes well tomorrow.
Love you Emma! I can’t wait to talk to u Monday.

Work hard and enjoy this beautiful season as a missionary!

I saw this post by elder Holland and thought of you!

a father I have recently begun to think more often of Joseph, that strong, silent, almost unknown man who must have been more worthy than any other mortal man to be the guiding foster father of the living Son of God. It was Joseph selected from among all men who would teach Jesus to work. It was Joseph who taught Him the books of the law. It was Joseph who, in the seclusion of the shop, helped Him begin to understand who He was and ultimately what He was to become. I wonder what emotions Joseph might have had as he cleared away the dung and debris. I wonder if he felt the sting of tears as he hurriedly tried to find the cleanest straw and hold the animals back. I wonder if he wondered: “Could there be a more unhealthy, a more disease-ridden, a more despicable circumstance in which a child could be born? Is this a place fit for a King? Should the mother of the Son of God be asked to enter the valley of the shadow of death in such a foul and unfamiliar place as this? Is it wrong to wish her some comfort? Is it right He should be born here?” But I am certain Joseph did not mutter and Mary did not wail. They knew a great deal and did the best they could. Perhaps these parents knew even then that in the beginning of His mortal life, as well as in the end, this baby son born to them would have to descend beneath every human pain and disappointment. He would do so to help those who also felt they had been born without advantage." Elder Holland Artist Lester Yocum

Hermana Rigby,

What a week….

Christmas miracle

#1- My brother Kim came by today with aunt Sofia’s homemade donuts. He helped me scrub the counter tops and we had a good visit- he even gave me a hug!

#2 singing in the ward choir as we have prepared for the Christmas program has brought the spirit into my heart the most this season. I am very grateful for th opportunity to sing praises to our savior.

#3 while maleck, dad, and madsen have all been sick, I have been blessed with good health which has enabled me to finish up my grading and serve those around me.

Events of the week- second East Christmas party, 6 basketball games for maleck, babysitting Steele, lots of cleaning, and Maleck’s first date!

I  hope you have enjoyed your week as you have shared the light of Christ.

Thank you for sharing your light with others… I love you so much!

Merry Christmas!

Saying goodbye to 2024

Hi Hermana,

Hey sis, how has the rest of the week gone? I  praying that the baptism is still a go for tomorrow.

Since Christmas  I have watched 20 hours of basketball including one game of Camden’s games (the Hodson classic)  I also devoured a 368 page book in less than 18 hours- it was sooo good! I have taken several naps, stayed up late, slept in late, and I have eaten way to much sugar. I did get one 3 mile walk in- hurrah for me.

I have been studying the restoration in preparation for my lesson next week- I am soooo excited to study the doctrine and covenants! I am thinking of challenging my class to memorize Jesus the Christ with us- what do u think?

We gathered with the Weaver clan today. Skeet shooting(only madsen went) and dinner at the shop. It was fun to see all the cute great grand kids.

I love you so much Emma, and I look forward to talking with you on Monday!
