A note from Mom- Hey Sis
August 18, 2024
Hey sis,
My day began at 6:30 this morning with a walk to the wash. It was beautiful. The early morning rain left the air crisp and fresh with dew and the clouds were swirling in shades of white and pink. I walked swiftly, but took in my surroundings and counted my many blessings.
Today, I teach gospel doctrine, Alma 43-52- the war chapters. My take away? The best offense is a good defense. I love the leadership of Captain Moroni. He possessed an innate ability to strategize in efforts to defend his people. But he also exercised great mercy and he knew when enough was enough. The Book of Mormon is powerful!
Life here:
First day back--- woot woot. It went off without a hitch minus the fact that we didn't have power for the first two periods- yikes. Thankfully, the power returned and I found my rhythm. However, I do need to find my student teacher a chair of her own desk. Come to find out, I can't stand sitting in a chair that is warm.
I darted to the temple after school on Thursday- loved it! Followed by exercise at the shop and prep time at home. After school on Friday, I met the sisters I minister to and with at Second East. I am challenging myself to be a better ministering sister. Friday night was awesome as the Falcons beat the Mountain View Bruins. I loved watching the game and Maleck even got a few minutes on the field- not bad for a sophomore. The game was fun as I enjoyed the company of dad, Stockton, Amanda, and Miss Madsen.
Saturday, I spent most of the day cleaning house, doing laundry and running errands. I did manage to take in a stop at the Farmer's Market to enjoy Miss Madsen's singing and a very delicious fresh raspberry shake. Afterwards, I stopped by grandma and grandpa's to check on them.
Family update:
Opening morning of the bow hunt was yesterday- dad, Stockton, and Maleck are in heaven
Bella is now 3 months old- I can't wait to see her in two weeks. Leydi is so excited to fly home and see her family. Seleck continues to work hard and is doing a little business on the side.
Stockton and Amanda attended an all day long birthing class yesterday in St. George. It is so fun to watch their excitement grow as they get closer to their due date.
Madsen- Can't believe he turns 22 this week. He is hanging in there- Monday night I enjoyed watching him play softball.
Maleck- gearing up for his first two JV games this week. He seems to like his teachers. Maleck is a great missionary, and he looks for those kids who need friends. Last night he had three nonmember friends over to hang out.
Dad- Dad is tired, drained, frustrated, and very sweet. I have to order he quit working otherwise, he is going to kill himself- well you know what I mean
Me- I am happy. Although I have had a migraine basically since Wednesday, I am hanging in there. I feel grateful for my many blessings and for my five beautiful children who have good hearts.
My thoughts have been with you all week. Please remember who the Lord calls he qualifies. Great things are ahead of you Emma- Believe in yourself. I Love you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!
God Speed,
xoxoxoxox,
Mom
